Request for Tender- Mackenzie District Council Aquatic Recreation Facility Operations

⁠⁠⁠Mackenzie District Council (Council) has two seasonal Aquatic Facilities. These operate for public use through the summer season (November to March). The pools are promoted, supervised by qualified lifeguards, and the water quality is managed to the NZS 5826. Up until last season Council had delivered the services in-house with short term contracted staff. An independent report in September 2020 recommended the services be outsourced to aquatic specialists to manage the inherent risks of providing pools for the public. At short notice CLM was approached and agreed to a one season contract.

Council is now seeking open market submissions to appoint an industry qualified provider to operate the pools for the 2021/2022 season and the following four summer seasons. The opportunity to include additional recreation facility/s may also eventuate creating a year round service provision engagement.
