⁠⁠⁠Summary
The Advanced Training Committee (ATC) in Medical Oncology seeks expressions of interest from Medical Oncology Fellows, to become an accreditor.

Description
The accreditation of training settings for Advanced Training is an essential activity that ensures high quality training environments for tomorrow’s physicians. As an accreditor, you will assist with local and/or interstate visits based on your availability.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most accreditation assessment visits are done virtually. Virtual site visits take approximately 2.5 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Review all submitted accreditation documentation prior to the visit.
  • Interview senior administrative staff, supervisors and trainees at the setting in regard to training.
  • Assess a setting’s suitability for training against the Medical Oncology Site Accreditation Criteria (PDF).
  • Write or contribute to the site visit report.
  • Recommend an accreditation decision for the consideration of the ATC.

Eligibility criteria

  • be a Medical Oncology Fellow
  • have at least 2 years of specialist experience
  • have participated in a medical education program

Prior experience in accreditation is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided.

Travel costs and expenses incurred will be covered by the College as outlined in the RACP Travel Policy and Guidelines (PDF).

Accreditors report to the ATC and CPD points can be claimed for accreditation activities.
