Tender Description
Council is seeking expressions of interest for the Design and Construction of the Burdekin Water Park, with applications closing at 12pm on Monday 16 August 2021.
A water park has been on the Burdekin community’s agenda for quite some time. From its inclusion in the 2019 Masterplan for a community recreation and sporting precinct, the water park piqued interest and from this, further planning was undertaken by Council. After a second community consultation period in early 2021, the desire for a medium sized water park that will cater for a wide age demographic was confirmed.
It is envisioned that the water park will become a large asset to this community and create another iconic attraction for tourism within the region. It is anticipated the water park will not only attract and entertain local families but draw interest from travellers and families from neighbouring districts.
Council has now been successful in securing government funding to assist with the design and construction costs associated with the Burdekin Water Park. With the mandate from the community and funding secured, Burdekin Shire Council wishes to invite tenderers to bring this project to fruition.
