The Council is looking to meet with interested local contractors to inform the industry of the proposed 3 Waters, Green Spaces and Roading work programme for 2021/22 and beyond, and also changes we are making in how we plan, procure and manage for our capital works.
The briefing will focus on providing to local contractors:
a. A breakdown of upcoming construction contracts, including approximate size and intended tender upload date, across the water, sewerage, stormwater, solid waste, green spaces and roading areas. We will indicate the process and timing to determine the coming 10 year spend, and the likely issues the Council will be balancing.
b. We'll also take the opportunity to let you know about the changes in our procurement approach, including new panels and prequalification registers we have established, and increased emphasis on sustainability, public value and competitive tension.
c. In addition, we will provide a brief update on the 3 Waters reforms, and where they are currently sitting from our perspective, and what might eventuate for the industry.
We'll be holding the briefing at the Woodend Community Centre on School Road, Woodend.
The briefing will be held between 4:00pm and 5:30pm on Thursday 12th August 2021.
