Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation which is responsible for building, maintaining and operating an electricity network which connects over 1.1 million customers to traditional and renewable energy sources.

The Scope

Western Power’s Vegetation Management Program is an integral part of its bushfire prevention strategy which reduces the risk of bushfires caused by the proximity of vegetation to Western Power’s assets.

Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the provision of vegetation management services.

Contractors shall deliver the following services:

• Vegetation inspection services around Western Power’s transmission network;
• Vegetation cutting and clearing services, including sucker management, around Western Power’s distribution and transmission networks;
• Pole base clearing services around Western Power’s distribution network;
• Risk assessment of hazardous and overhanging trees and the cutting and removal of such hazards/overhang; and
• Management of relevant stakeholders, including Western Power’s customers.

These services will take place in select locations throughout the South West Interconnected Network and as directed by Western Power.

Registration Requirements

Suppliers are required to respond to the ROI submission as follows:

• Demonstrate ability and expertise to meet scope requirements;
• Demonstrate relevant track record and capability in delivering Vegetation Management Services to an electricity utility’s network;
• Provide details of current Safety, Health and Environmental Management System;
