Roadside and Open Space Weed Control Program 2021/23

⁠⁠⁠This RFT is required to secure contractor/s for the delivery of weed control activities in the Mount Barker District Council.

The scope of the works is the seasonal control of annual and broadleaf weeds on roadsides, footpaths, open spaces and linear trails in the urban areas and on rural roadsides and open spaces as per the MBDC Roadside and Open Space weed control program.

Works are broken into the following 4 areas

• Rural Roadside (designated outside of township areas)

• Urban Area Roadsides (designated as roads, footpaths, within township areas)

• Linear trails networks and corridors within townships

• Broadleaf weed control on ovals, parks and open spaces

• Hourly weed control services for areas out of scope on an as required basis.

Weed control is undertaken for aesthetic, traffic and community safety and fire prevention purposes within the district.

Roadside spraying - Urban areas require treatment 2 times per season with an optional 3rd and 4th treatment. Rural areas require treatment 2 times per year with an optional 3rd treatment.

Broadleaf and hourly weed control services are on an as needs basis.
