Corrective Services New South Wales is calling for expressions of interest on the sale, salvage and removal of all sawmill plant and equipment located at the Glen Innes Correctional Centre. The plant and equipment will be sold in one line as a non-divisible lot and includes:
- Sawmill in-feed and de-barker equipment
- Breakdown saws, Gang saw, VSA saw (Vertical saw arbour) and green chain auto trimmer.
- Finished timber line equipment
- Overhead Scragg primary sawmill complete with log optimize for efficient log to timber recovery rate
- Timber moulders
- Auto docking capability
- High temperature kiln
- Various other machines and assets
The CSI sawmill has been operating at Glen Innes Correctional Centre in the Northern Tablelands for over 30 years. In 2012 / 2013 it received an upgrade to improve its already impressive log sawing capabilities and increase the recovery rate for log processing by an additional 15%. This has increased capacity to be able to process over 400 cubic metres of sawn timber per day. New downstream equipment has been commissioned to produce dried and dressed timber in a cost-effective way. In addition to processed timber, the facility at Glen Innes provided pine bark, ground timber and sawdust.
