Galena Mercury Talc- Tender-Electrical Assets Relocation Project

⁠⁠⁠Broken Hill City Council would like to engage a suitable contractor to perform the relocation of 3 numbers of Electrical poles for the upgrading of the intersection Galena Mercury Talc with the provision of Roundabout.

The general scope of work would be-

1. Overhead Augmentation

• Removal of the powerline and poles located in Riddiford Arboretum as far back as practical towards Harvey St. This allows sufficient room for the kerbing on the Western corner of the intersaction.

• Relocation of the pole on the Southern corner back towards Graphite St by 15m.

• Relocation of the pole on the Eastern corner (Shannon Electrics) 8m towards Gossan St.

• Replacement of overhead conductors across Galena St to maintain the overhead construction in that direction.

2. Underground Augmentation

• Install new pole in Galena St in front of Shannon Electrics to transition the overhead cables to underground.

• Install new pole in Galena St in front of Home Hardware to transition the overhead cables to underground.

• Connect HV and LV underground cables to relocated pole in Talc St to tie in the overhead HV circuit running across Galena St.

• Open trench across Talc St to install underground cables across the intersection.

• Install and patch in fibre optic cable running on Essential Poles along Galena St.

• Install 3-way HV switching station in the road reserve adjacent to Home Hardware.

• Install LV switching cabinet as per design in the road reserve adjacent to Shannon Electrics.

• Install roundabout streetlight column as per the design

The important thing for the supplier to consider are as follows-

• Tenders will only be accepted from accredited ASP level 1, authorised for Essential Energy’s network.

• Tenderer to provide fixed lump sum price including Essential Energy fees and charges.

• Tendered is responsible for all civil works, surface reinstatements and traffic control.

• A separate mobilisation to site will be required for the installation of the streetlight in the centre of the roundabout. Road works will not commence until asset relocation works are complete.

• The removal of sections of powerline in Riddiford Arboretum must be carried out in a way that does not damage the existing vegetation.
