Tender Description
Container Exchange (COEX) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals, community groups and businesses interested in operating a Containers for Change Container Refund Point (CRP) in Little Mountain or surrounding areas on the Sunshine Coast.
COEX is the not-for-profit organisation that delivers the Containers for Change scheme in Queensland.
The scheme encourages the uptake of recycling with a 10-cent refund offered as an incentive on every eligible container returned at a registered Queensland CRP.
The new refund point on the Sunshine Coast will service the following areas – Little Mountain, Baringa, Bells Creek, Pelican Waters, Golden Beach and Aroona - providing locals with greater access to the scheme.
COEX Chief Executive Officer Ken Noye recognised the success of the scheme to date, and the importance of building upon this growth by providing Queenslanders with greater accessibility to the scheme.
“More than four billion containers have been returned through the scheme since its launch in November 2018, a true demonstration of the passion Queenslanders has for recycling,” said Mr Noye.
“Container Refund Point operators play a valuable role in Queensland’s circular economy with containers returned through the scheme sold to accredited recyclers and manufactured into new products.
“The EOI is open to individuals, existing businesses and community groups who are interested in a commercial venture that offers environmental and financial benefits to the local community.”
