Tender Description

Technical Forest Services (TFS) for and on behalf of a consolidated group of Tasmanian Institutional Forest Managers (the group) is inviting expressions of interest for provision of a remote ground-based fire detection system in Tasmania.

This will be a two-stage process:

  • Stage 1 – EOI to determine capability and capacity in the market
  • Stage 2 – Invited Request for Proposal (RFP) based on outcomes from stage 1.

The scope of the project is provision of a ‘Tasmanian Remote Ground Based Fire Detection System’.

The system is to cover approximately 250,000 ha of net planted plantation forestry area spread throughout a gross area coverage of approximately 4 million hectares (map provided upon enquiry).

Following submission in this stage 1 EOI process, TFS will review the applicants and provide further information regarding site availability, viewsheds and other information to those successful applicants who progress to the Stage 2 RFP process.

Works would be to commence as soon as practicable following contractual agreements at the end of the Stage 2 process. Consideration will be given to proposals that are able to provide some coverage for the 2021-22 Tasmanian fire season, with full operations and provision of the system completed for the 2022-23 Tasmanian fire season.

Please Contact TFS for provision of the EOI documentation.
