Yass Valley Council manages an extensive road network of over 1,200km throughout the Local Government Area (LGA). Nanima Road connects residents and visitors from the Barton Highway and Murrumbateman Road and is an integral part of our roads system.
Nanima Road has experienced increasing traffic volumes in recent years due to development in the area. The existing road is narrow and shoulder widening and other safety improvements are proposed to improve the safety of the route.
Stage 1 rehabilitation works are currently underway between the Barton Highway and Chainage 5.0km, and Council through a combination of funding from the Fixing Country Roads Grants program and internal funding, are now intending to commence Stage 2 works to improve safety along the remainder of the route between Chainage 5.0km and Chainage 13.7km (Murrumbateman Road).
Works may include tree removal, shoulder widening, drainage improvements, and signage and delineation improvements.
