CASA 20/195 – 1 x Java Developer

The EAP system is a COTS product that manages the regulation of airspace, it is built using Java EE
Reporting to the Project Manager EAP Project and/or Section Head of COTS Support, The Java developer will be responsible for:
a) Develop custom reporting outputs for the EAP system
b) Contributing to other project outputs as required
c) Identifying, evaluating and managing risk in the delivery of project outcomes
d) Work to deadlines, monitor and report progress.
e) Work co-operatively and collaboratively with the project team, as well as other stakeholders within CASA.
f) Other related tasks as requested by the Project Manager EAP Project and/or Section Head of COTS Support
g) Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity and participative management and environmental management practices in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA values and behaviours.

Mandatory
a) At least 3 years’ experience working as a Java developer
b) Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of a bespoke Java application
c) Experience integrating bespoke java implementations
d) Experience developing reports using java reporting tools
e) Experience writing SQL queries for reporting applications
f) Experience providing continuous improvement to an application

Desirable experience

a) Experience with Jasper Reports or similar technology would be highly regarded
b) Experience with Jasper Server would be highly regarded
c) Experience using Maven for project management activities and build automation would be highly regarded
d) Experience using Apache Ant or similar Java build tools
e) Experience using Jira/Confluence or similar products to engage to engage with the software vendor
f) Experience using MS SQL Server Reporting Services or similar
g) Experience using BI reporting tools like Microsoft Power BI
h) Experience working in an agile project
