Liquified Chlorine Gas Supply

⁠⁠⁠The Dunedin City Council (DCC) uses liquified chlorine gas for the disinfection of potable (drinking) water at our water treatment plants and for the treatment of water for the Moana pool aquatic facility. It is also required for the new Mosgiel pool.

The scope includes the supply, delivery and removal of 70-100kg cylinders and 920-1,000kg drums of liquified chlorine gas to and from the following supply points within Dunedin City:
• Mount Grand Water Treatment Plant - main supply point.
• Southern Water Treatment Plant - potable water treatment station
• Moana Pool (via Mt Grant or Southern)
• Mosgiel Pool (via Mt Grant or Southern) – from approx December 2022.

The DCC's annual estimated usage of liquified chlorine gas is in excess of 30,000kg but demand may vary over time and during the life of this contract. The initial term of the contract is 6 years with 2 options to extend (6+2+2).
