Alcohol and Other Drug Community Based Withdrawal Service

⁠⁠⁠The 2018 Report of the Government Inquiry into Mental Health and Addiction, He Ara Oranga, confirmed that alcohol and drug addiction recovery services around the country are under pressure, fragmented, uncoordinated and lacking consistency.

In response, the Wellbeing Budget 2019 made mental health and addiction a top priority with $1.9 billion allocated over four years to mental health wellbeing.

Southern DHB has been allocated funding for the provision of 1.6 FTE community-based withdrawal management nurses as part of this funding package.

We are seeking proposals for the provision of a service covering the geographical areas of Invercargill, Southland District and Queenstown Lakes, these areas have been identified as high priority.
