Tender Description
We are seeking Proposals to consider for funding solutions to address rural connectivity issues such as those that arose during the COVID-19 lockdown. The specific focus is on increasing broadband capacity in rural areas that have experienced congestion and poor broadband experience or are likely to experience congestion in the short-to-medium term.
The Government Funding will be used to facilitate enhancement of broadband service to these under-served rural areas throughout New Zealand, including businesses, farms, marae, and households that are not within the footprint of the existing UFB and RBI2 initiatives, and who cannot currently access and will not be able to access, terrestrial broadband service at a speed greater than 20Mbps downstream and 3Mbps upstream after current planned market upgrades.
