Ohakea Rural Water Scheme - Water Treatment Plant
Tender ID: 452624
Tender Details
Tender Description
Manawatu District Council is delivering a new water scheme that will provide drinking water to the RNZAF Base at Ohakea and surrounding areas where Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) have contaminated existing groundwater sources. Delivery of the overall project is being coordinated to bring significant components of the project together concurrently. The new drinking water scheme must be complete and operational by 24 December 2021. MDC is seeking proposals for a new WTP at Ohakea. The WTP will be designed to treat 2,000m3 of raw water per day, and send this same volume to the reticulation network. MDC wishes to have the ability to expand the WTP in the future to treat up to 10,000m3 per day, with this future extra volume potentially constructed incrementally or as a whole. The WTP solution that is sought will tie in with the deep bore that is currently under construction, the treated water reservoir that is soon to be constructed, and the reticulation network that is currently under construction. The WTP will be able to be used for drinking water supply immediately following completion of the design and construction contract. It will provide drinking water to residences and farms in the Ohakea rural area, and RNZAF Base Ohakea. This new supply will replace existing contaminated groundwater sources, and replace the current reliance on tanker-supplied drinking water.
