Whanganui Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Scum Baffles

⁠⁠⁠Whanganui District Council (WDC) is inviting tenders from suitably experienced contractors to construct two scum baffles and their related pumps, valves and electrical systems at Whanganui WWTP.

The new assets, works and related documentation to be created under this contract will include, but may not be limited to, the following:
(Details of the works can be found in section 5 of Appendix B)

• Supply and installation of a skimmer arm for each clarifier (#1 and #2).
• Supply and installation of scum baffles for each clarifier (#1 and #2).
• Supply and installation of a scum box and associated pipework for each clarifier (#1 and #2).
• New pipe penetrations through the clarifier walls.
• Associated gravity pipework and fittings to the scum pumping station.
• Construction of a new pumping station including valve chamber and all associated mechanical pump, pipework, valves and fittings, 1 off pump in duty only configuration.
• Construction of new rising main from scum pump station to existing Supernatant Pump Station.
• Installation of a new power cable from the existing MCC3 on site (near the RAS pump station) to the scum pump station (415v, 3 phase, approximately 40m).
• Installation of 2 new control/instrumentation cables from the existing MCC3 on site (near the RAS pump station) to the junction box near the scum pump station (approximately 40m).
• All other electrical works associated with the new pump station.
• Testing and commissioning of complete works.
• Full reinstatement in line with existing conditions.
