Background

In 2018 the City of South Perth developed a Sports Oval Floodlighting Plan. The Plan sets out a long term framework for the provision of sports oval floodlights across the City's existing active reserves, aligning with Australian Standard AS 2560 series and key City strategic documents.

The lux levels (luminaires) on Bill Grayden Reserve were identified to be below the minimum requirements and was therefore listed as upgrade as part of the Sports Oval Floodlighting Plan.

Given that Bill Grayden Reserve is heavily utilised by sporting clubs throughout the day and night, the City would like to upgrade its floodlights at this Reserve.

City of South Perth is seeking to engage a suitable experienced and qualified contractor to undertake the floodlighting upgrade works to provide up to 100 lux competition standard lighting whilst minimising disruptions to the reserves usage.

The City
The City of South Perth is a medium sized metropolitan local government authority in the inner southern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth. Situated across the Swan River about 4 kilometres south of Perth CBD, the City is nearly 20 square kilometres and covers the suburbs of South Perth, Kensington, Como, Manning, Karawara, Waterford and Salter Point. The district is primarily residential, however important local industries include professional offices, educational institutions, tourism and golf courses.

The Organisation
The City's Civic Centre is located on the corner of Sandgate Street and South Terrace, South Perth. The City also operates from other locations including its Operations Centre 199 Thelma Street, Como.
