Tender Description
Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) currently undertakes an annual program of ballast cleaning on its Railway Network. During this process a large volume of waste ballast is produced and is typically stockpiled throughout the network. It is proposed that material is to be re-processed by way of crushing, screening and/or blending to produce useable recycled aggregate (road base or similar product).
The company seeking insight into the current capabilities of contractors to undertake these works. The works are required to be undertaken onsite as a mobile operation. Access to a suitable and approved area to undertake the works, water and the materials will be supplied by the company.
The contractors should detail:
- their experience in mobile crushing, processing and recycling of aggregates
- their experience working with resource or mining sector
- any technical knowledge or relevant capabilities that would support execution of the scope of work
- a high-level methodology for approaching the works including equipment likely required
- any concerns with the proposed operations, that may assist to highlight any shortcomings in this proposal.
