Busby Road Trunk Water Main Renewal - Physical Works

⁠⁠⁠Western Bay of Plenty District Council wishes to procure construction services to renew approximately 1,550 metres of trunk water main between Busby Road and Thornton Road, near Katikati.

A new 250 mm OD PE100 water main and associated valves and connections will be installed along a new alignment using a either of open trench or horizontal directional drilling methods, including testing and commissioning. The existing 200 mm asbestos-cement (AC) pipe will mostly be left in place, with some isolated sections of the old pipe that need to be removed and disposed.

The alignment for the pipe takes place in a private road and may encounter archaeological sites. Co-operation and good communication with the private residents and cultural monitor is required for the full duration of the project. Maintaining access throughout the project for the residents is very important.

The Contract includes but is not limited to:
• The supply and installation of all pipe, fittings and valves required for the renewal of the trunk main.
• The successful completion of the testing required.
• The reinstatement of all surfaces affected by the works, including the supply of the associated materials.
