Developments at the MWWTP at Kawakawa Road, Feilding have created the need to alter the entrance to accommodate increasing vehicle movements. This project is a roading intersection improvement that will upgrade the existing entrance from a traditional private commercial entrance to a T intersection.
The contract works involve all earthworks for seal widening and drainage improvements, supply of materials and construction of road pavement, kerb and channel, asphaltic concrete surfacing, road marking etc. Undergrounding of power cables is provisionally included. Traffic flows along Kawakawa Road and into the MWWTP will need to be maintained throughout construction.
The contract works are due for practical completion by 30 June 2021, or as otherwise agreed with the successful tenderer. The completion date coincides with the planned opening date for the new resource recovery centre that is currently under construction.
