The Mount Magnet Astro Rocks Fest is an annual, science based astro geo tourism community event in the Murchison Geo Region of WA and is a weekend designed with a focus on astro geo-tourism together with other community events for everyone. The Mount Magnet Astro Rocks Fest is coordinated and supported by the Shire of Mount Magnet with generous sponsorship and support from Ramelius Resources, LotteryWest, Horizon Power, WA Department of Mines and Tourism WA as well from the astro and geo science industry.
The Shire of Mount Magnet is seeking Expressions of Interest from the local community business and non business sector who may be interested in joining the Astro Rocks Festival Committee that Council is forming for the 2021 year. The intent of the Committee is to assist Council in the planning, coordination and marketing of each annual Astro Rocks Festival event with a focus on ensuring the event retains its well established and strong astro and geo science base that will also enhance tourism opportunities for Mount Magnet and the Murchison Region.
There is no specific selection criteria for membership of the proposed committee other than a passion and interest for the astro and geo science as a tourism based industry. Ultimately the Shire of Mount Magnet will consider all expressions of interest received and make the final decision.
