Tender Description
The purpose of this work is to repair and upgrade the current Possum Switchlock cable route where it passes through a floodway at the 225.8km due to a washout of the existing cable route. The new cable route is to be installed over the Tom Price 225.8km bridge between Possum North B and Switchlock Location 51. A new cable <200m long will be installed between new cable junction boxes either side of the bridge.
In detail the work involves:
• Install galvanised Iron Pipe (65NB) below the bridge and transition to orange HD PVC pipe for buried cable route to a pit and cable junction box (CJB) at either end of the bridge
• Install new trafficable P7 cable pits & lids (900x600x900mm CLASS "D")
• Install new cable junction box (B&R Enclosure SP040425/S) mounted on a 100mm SHS galvanised post as per drawing RS-XT-00560 & RS-XT-00561.
• Install new cable between the two new cable junction boxes (8c 2.5mm2 signalling cable spec PVC/PVC/Nylon/PVC)
• Install bollards to protect the cable junction boxes (2 bollards per CJB) as per RS-XT-00403 & RS-XT-00404.
• Removal of existing damage pits, pipe and old/redundant cabling.
• Signalling testing resource to make initial disconnection, perform cable testing and complete certificates, reconnect cables to CJB, function test switchlock controls and indications.
The contractor is requested to provide resources, plant and equipment to support the repair and reinstatement of the new cable route to the description above.
