Carterton District Council Dalefield Road Wastewater Main Renewal

⁠⁠⁠What we need
The objective of the contract works is the renewal of approximately 650 meters of wastewater reticulation and associated infrastructure in Dalefield Road, Carterton. This project aims to provide future wastewater disposal capacity for general growth in the catchment of the network and also a proposed growth cell on the eastern side of Carterton. The renewal will also help reduce the amount of stormwater entering the old leaky wastewater network which places undue loading on the wastewater treatment plant in times of wet weather.

All pipework and manholes will be tested and as-built information produced in CAD format to the council's specified standards. We are looking for a successful supplier to be responsible for on-site contract management, Health, and Safety, Traffic Management, and all insurances. NZS3910:2013 Conditions of contract for building and civil engineering construction will apply for this contract.

Please note that it is anticipated the actual construction on site is not expected to commence until the start of summer 2021. This recognizes that contractors are extremely busy due to the disruptions of Covid 19 and this will allow them sufficient time to arrange the necessary consents, program the works, and obtain the necessary materials to complete the project.

Carterton District Council (CDC) would like the project completed by the 30th of April 2022.
CDC has a long-term vision to improve the wastewater network to provide for future growth in the community and to reduce the excessive levels of stormwater infiltration into the network, which impacts the efficiency of the wastewater treatment plant. The community expects that quality, fit-for-purpose infrastructure, and services that are cost-effective and meet future needs are provided. This is achieved through managing assets, good planning, providing the basis of management, legislative, financial, engineering, and technical practices to ensure that we deliver on the community's expectations at an optimum cost. Therefore the council is looking for the best value for money from suppliers who have the capability, experience, and qualified staff to deliver what is needed.
