Animal Impoundment Services

⁠⁠⁠Port Stephens Council requires Animal Impoundment Services of a Service Provider (Contractor). This includes the provision of a facility within the Port Stephens LGA, management and control of impounded animals.

The contractor must be familiar with the following Acts, associated Regulations, Codes of Practice; and services required.

Companion Animals Act 1998, the Impounding Act 1993, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979, and the NSW Animal Welfare Code of Practice No 5 – Dogs and Cats in Animal Boarding Establishments.

These services under the applicable laws, include the return of animals to their owner, sale/rehome of animals and the euthanasia of animals.
