Refurbishment of Stuarts Point Reservoir

⁠⁠⁠Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified contractors for the refurbishment of the Stuarts Point reservoir to provide corrosion mitigation measure by installation of Cathodic Protection system and recoating the internal surfaces of the reservoir and external ring-base of the reservoir to extend the service life of the reservoir and prevent premature failure of the asset.

Stuarts Point Water Reservoir is a critical water asset that provides drinking water storage for townships / villages of Stuarts Points, Grassy Head and Fisherman’s Reach. The reservoir receives treated water with an average free chlorine concentration of 1.2 mg/l from Stuarts Point Water Treatment Plant and provides adequate storage capacity to ensure reliability of supply to residents.

A summary of the scope of works for the refurbishment of the reservoir is provided below:

• Blasting and recoating of the internal wall and floor.
• Removal of the existing sealing bitumen Coating of the external base plate and the first 300 mm of the external wall above the base plate and reinstatement of the sealing bitumen.
• Installation of Cathodic Protection System.
• Installation of Four additional turbine ventilators to achieve 6 air changes per hour based on the air volume above TWL.

A more detailed brief of the extent of services required by the Principal is set out in the tender documents.

Tenderers are required to attend a tender briefing/site inspection on the 26th of February 2021 at 1pm.

The Council’s Local Preference Purchasing Procedure adopted on 20 March 2018 applies to this Tender.

Tenders should be submitted in accordance with instructions included in the information documents and lodged in the electronic tender box on eProcure prior to the closing time and date. The onus rests on the tenderer to ensure that the tender is lodged in accordance with the above requirements.
