Tender Description
The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) is committed to delivering better outcomes for Aboriginal children through ongoing implementation of the Aboriginal Carer Services program across the Northern Territory. The program aims to place Aboriginal children in care in safe, suitable and culturally connected placements with Aboriginal carers.
Aboriginal Carer Service providers are funded across the Northern Territory to find, assess and support Aboriginal and Aboriginal carers.
The model for Aboriginal Carer Services program was designed by Tangentyere Aboriginal Council, The Children Safe, Family Together model which is attached in the supporting document section. The model and implementation guide provides a flexible guide for how Aboriginal organisations looking to deliver Aboriginal Carer Services could approach design and service delivery.
Aboriginal led organisations are invited to deliver one or more of the following 'stages' in the Barkly Region.
Stage 1: Finding and Engaging Carers
Stage 2: Support Carers Assessment
Stage 3: Placement Setup
Stage 4: Supporting Carers
While organisations may not be in a place to provide all four stages, applications for one or more stages will be considered. A lead Aboriginal organisations may nominate to work in partnership or collaboration with one or more additional organisations that can include non-Aboriginal organisations and partners.
How to apply
All applications MUST include a response to the provided questions:
Details of how and where you will deliver the service;
Detailed budget plan; All applications must provide a fully costed budget in the National Standard Chart of Account format.
Relevant supporting documents; and
Written confirmation of commitment from any other organisation / community groups you will be collaborating with (if applicable).
