Pre-qualified Supplier Arrangement Supply, Transport, Blending and Spraying of Bituminous Products

Tenders are invited for

•  the supply, transport, blending and spraying of bitumen, polymer modified bitumen, cutter oil and adhesion agent for the priming, prime sealing and sealing of new works
•  supply and delivery of cold-mix asphalt suitable for pavement maintenance,
•  supply and delivery of bituminous emulsion for use by Council in maintenance works, and
•  supply and delivery of hot-mix asphalt suitable for pavement construction.

(21.2) Material Quality
The products and services to be supplied under this Contract shall comply with the provisions of the relevant sections of the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads Specification:-

• MRS 11 (10/10) - Sprayed Bituminous Surfacing (excluding emulsions)
• MRTS 11 - Sprayed Bituminous Surfacing (excluding emulsions)
• MRS 17 (11/11) - Bitumen
• MRTS 17 - Bitumen
• MRS 18 (11/11) - Polymer Modified Bitumen
• MRTS 18 - Polymer Modified Bitumen
• MRS 19 (11/11) - Bitumen Cutter and Flux Oils
• MRTS 19 - Bitumen Cutter and Flux Oils
• MRS 20 (11/11) - Cutback Bitumen
• MRTS 20 - Cutback Bitumen

(21.3) Equipment & Operator
Bitumen sprayers shall comply with the requirements of Austroads "Bitumen Sprayers" 1989 and shall have a current Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads Sprayer Certificate. The bitumen sprayer operator shall have all necessary certification and be skilled in the operation of the sprayer and experienced to undertake general bitumen spray operations.

The Principal will supply traffic control for all works. The scope of works to be undertaken under this contract for individual projects will be advised at commissioning and may include the supply of bitumen, cutter and adhesion agents, mixing of cutter and/or adhesion Specifications - 2904_2020-21_TTB_29 agent and spraying of mixed product with sweeping, aggregate spreading and rolling by the Principal.

The Contractor shall supply as necessary prime movers, tankers, trailers, trucks and sprayers to undertake the cartage of bitumen, cutter and adhesion agents to site and then enable the spray works to be carried out.
