Tender Description
The Network and Infrastructure Division (N&I) of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) has identified the need to have available contractors to undertake a range of low to mid-level value projects involving construction services associated with the electrical and other services infrastructure on the network.
Typical works could involve:
- High Voltage Non-Traction Power (including cabling, fuses, essential supply transformers);
- Low Voltage electrical (including power conditioners, transfer switches, DB’s, UPS’s, generators, cabling, signalling power supply);
- 600V AC and 110V AC IT Connected Signalling Supply (ELD and transformer Installation and the like);
- building works (new buildings or building modifications to house service equipment including access control, mechanical services, fire detection and suppression, light and power, CCTV, cable tray, and associated civil, structural and the like work);
- building works and ancillary civil and structural works associated with Disability Discrimination Act compliance;
- operational technology (alarm rationalisation, new alarms, SCADA updates and the like);
- communications (fibre and copper to support control systems works and possibly network switches or media convertors);
- in-ground infrastructure (conduits, pits, service locations, footings, directional drilling and the like);
- earthing and bonding including track bonds;
- Overhead Line Equipment (including masts, footings, line connection and jointly commissioning services with specialist OLE contractors); and
- Any other works within the buying rules, scope and capacity of Panel members.
To meet those needs the PTA is establishing a two-tier Panel arrangement.
It is expected that Tier 2 Panel Members will be electrical contracting firms with capacity to undertake the types of electrical work as a prime contractor, while Tier 1 Panel Members will be firms with the capability to act as head contractors for Projects requiring a higher level of construction management and coordination of multiple subcontractors.
