Tender Description

Auckland Council is seeking to appoint a selection of suppliers for the Aquatic Centres Gas Boiler Phase-Out programme.
The purpose of this notice is to identify suppliers who are interested in submitting a proposal for the required services through the Request for Proposal (RFP) tender process.

Auckland Council’s aquatic centres are responsible for 85% of Auckland Council’s natural gas usage which in-turn is responsible for 23% of Auckland Council’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Auckland Council has declared a climate emergency and set targets to limit warming to 1.5°C. In effect this means reducing GHG emissions to net zero by 2050; this will require phasing out natural gas
consumption.

The Aquatic Centres Gas Boiler Phase-Out programme targets the natural gas use at our pools to:
1. Identify the optimal pool water and air heating solution (including electrical capacity requirements) through a site-specific decarbonisation report to include heating options analysis based on financial ROI and carbon reduction.
2. Design and deliver the reliable low-emissions pool heating solution identified, including full inclusive maintenance schedule and defects and warranty period.
3. Report and review benefits realisation and lessons learnt for improved delivery through each phase-out project within the five-year programme.

The contracts are anticipated to commence in mid-late March 2021.

A supplier briefing will be held on 8th December 2020, at 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
Please confirm your attendance by emailing Ling Hsu (ling.hsu@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz) by Friday, 4th December 2020.
