Dredging Part of Theresa Creek Dam
Tender ID: 440255
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Theresa Creek Dam (TCD) water catchment was commissioned in 1983 and has served the Clermont community since then. The impoundment has been through both flood and drought and has over the years had significant loss of its capacity through the collection of runoff sediment.
The current intake tower situated in the Policeman’s creek channel has four Portals for the pumping of raw water to the Clermont Water treatment plant (WTP). Currently the silt level has risen above the second to bottom portal rendering the bottom two portals unusable.
The original project concept was looking at a long-term project of de-silting the entire TCD impoundment area as stated in AECOM report titled “TCD Sedimentation Assessment, Dredging and Drying".
The full de-silting of the impoundment is still an active long-term project that is in a feasibility phase.
The short-term objective decided on for this FY project is the de-silting of the Policeman’s creek area to remove as much of the sediment as possible to allow for full access to available water and to correctly install the floating off take.
