Tender Description
The Attorney General and Minister for Justice invites from interested peron with the NT who:
- include members with a wide range of experience extendng as far as possible across all major industry sectors in the Territory
- incude representative representatives of organisations representing employers and representative of organisatins representing employees, in equal or approximately equal numbers
- include persons with expertise in the rehabilation of injured workers
- include persons with expertise in the insurance industry
The Work Rehabilitation and Compensation Advisory Council comprises of no more than ten members appointed by the Minister and a member constituting the Authority.
The Councils functions are to :
- keep the operation of the Act under review;
- make recommendations to the Minister on possible improvements to the administration of the Act, or the statutory scheme for the rehabilitation and compensation of injured workers in the Territory;
- carry out investigations, at the request of the Minister, into questions about the rehabilitation and compensation of injured workers and to report to the Minister on the results of the investigations, and
- perform any other advisory functions relating to workers' rehabilitation and compensation as the Minister directs.
An appointed member holds office for the period, not exceeding two years, specified in the instrument of appointment. Sitting fees are available to members.
