Rangitāiki River Floodway Stage 6C – Right Bank SH2 to McLeans Road – Stopbank Raising

Briefly, the works include:

• A contractor’s methodology that will, throughout the duration of construction, maintain at least the existing level of flood protection;
• Protection and maintenance of access and servicing for existing properties;
• Location and protection of all existing services;
• Topsoil stripping off the stopbank and stockpiling;
• Undercutting of the landward side toe to design level;
• Trimming of the existing stopbank as required in order to raise the crest to meet design level;
• Placement and compaction of engineered fill against the trimmed stopbank profile ;
• Installing a sand drain on the toe side of the finished stopbank (where required);
• Top soiling and grassing of the upgraded stopbank;
• Reinstatement of all affected surfaces;
• Clearing and tidying of the total site;
• Preparation and submission of as-built drawings;
• Associated project management and site supervision, erosion and sediment control including dewatering,survey setout;
• Other miscellaneous items described or implied in the specifications or drawings
