Incubators, accelerators and co-working operators are invited to an exciting opportunity to help grow the innovation ecosystem within the Greater Parramatta River City and Westmead Health and Innovation District (WHID).

The NSW Government is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from organisations focused on helping startup and technology companies to operate the Western Sydney Startup Hub (WSSH) located in the Parramatta North Heritage Core (Heritage Core).

The Government’s vision is for the WSSH to catalyse the innovation ecosystem in the Greater Parramatta River City to help entrepreneurs build the high growth companies and jobs of the future.

The WSSH will attract startups, scaleups and local businesses to a centralised location, creating a collaborative community that helps grow innovative jobs and companies in Western Sydney.

The WSSH will provide affordable space for entrepreneurs and by supporting incubators and accelerators to operate in a unique and heritage 1,500 square metres (1,232 sqm of net lettable area (NLA)) building in the Heritage Core.

The intended use of the WSSH is for “use by technology entrepreneurs and business promoting business innovation and economic development and any ancillary or supporting uses.” It will be provided to the operator with significant elements of the fitout already completed.

The NSW Government is providing significant resources to the design and building for the WSSH including the engagement of a heritage architect and builder to prepare the detailed design and documentation for the fit-out of the WSSH.

The NSW Government is committed to growing the WSSH and the innovation ecosystem in Western Sydney which is poised to grow through the rise in emerging digital technologies.
