Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage 2 - Fire Services - Wet and Dry

⁠⁠⁠The scope of fire services includes supply, installation then testing and commissioning of wet and dry fire systems to all associated buildings. The fire system will require detailed coordination with other trades in accordance with the John Holland Digital Engineering Management Plan (DEMP). The mechanical trade is to be the lead services co-ordinator for all above-slab services and hydraulics for all below slab services. Specific scope for Fire includes the following components:
• Fire Sprinkler system;
- Wet pipe sprinkler protection generally throughout all buildings;
- Deluge sprinkler protection to selected dayroom areas within Secure Blocks (SE) and Therapeutic Blocks (TH) as nominated in accordance with the Fire Engineering Report;
- Deluge sprinkler protection within Detention Unit (DU) cells in accordance with the Fire Engineering Report;
- Dry pipe sprinkler protection within Medical Unit (MU) and Mental Health (MH) cells in accordance with the Fire Engineering Report;
• Fire Detection and Alarm system;
• Point type detection generally throughout all buildings;
• Aspirating Smoke Detection within cell toilet exhaust and return air for all accommodation buildings and buildings;
• with overnight accommodation in accordance with the Fire Engineering Report;
• Emergency Warning systems;
• Fire Hydrant and Hose Reels systems;
• Combined Fire Sprinkler and Hydrant water supply;
• Fire Extinguishers and Fire Blankets;
• Interface with mechanical systems for Fire and Smoke Control in fire mode operation;
• Breathing Apparatus;
• Revit shop drawings;
• Submission to local authority for approval;
• Comprehensive commissioning and site validation testing;
• Submission of Operation and Maintenance manuals via OMTRAK or similar; and
• Comprehensive maintenance during defects liability period.
