Geotechnical Investigation Services for Reconstruction and Sealing of 52km of Come by Chance Road

⁠⁠⁠Council invites suitably qualified and experienced consultants to provide a quotation for Geotechnical Investigation Services for Reconstruction and Sealing of 52km of Come by Chance Road RR7716, in accordance with the Conditions of Tendering and specifications contained in this document. The scope of construction is as follows:
· Construction of up to 52km unsealed sidetrack
· Reinstatement of culverts and causeways as required
· Construction and sealing of 52km road of pavement width 9m and sealed width of 8m

SPECIFICATION OF WORK:
GENERAL DESCIPTION:
The proposed services shall comply with Australian Standards, legislations and codes of practice. Bidders are required to provide a proposed methodology along with their price for the service.
Location map is attached as Appendix 1.
The service shall comprise:
· Pavement investigations and testing
· Test pit logging
· Subgrade CBR - RMS T111, T117 and T120
· Atterberg Limits (Plastic Limit, Liquid Limit and Shrinkage)
· Moisture Content RMS T120
· Soil Test:
The consultant shall carryout soil test and find out the type of the soil, field density, CBR and determine suitability of existing pavement for adding a new layer on top of it. If the existing pavement happens to be unsuitable for adding new layer, the consultant shall investigate the reasonable solution for strengthening the existing pavement.
