Provision of Food Services and Cleaning Services

The Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare) has a requirement for a suitably qualified Service Provider to be contracted to provide:

• Food Services - VIFMH374

and/or

• Cleaning Services - VIFMH375

Forensicare is the statewide specialist provider of forensic mental health services in Victoria spanning all components of the mental health and criminal justice sectors.

Forensicare operates under the Mental Health Act 2014 and is governed by a Board accountable to the Minister for Mental Health. The Victorian Government, through the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Justice and Community Safety, provides much of our funding.

Forensicare operates across Victoria with administration located at the Thomas Embling Hospital in Fairfield. Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital with eight units that provide both acute and continuing care programs, including a dedicated women’s unit. The majority of patients are admitted to the hospital from the criminal justice system under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997, the Mental Health Act 2014, or the Sentencing Act 1991. Patients may also be admitted from the general mental health system under the Mental Health Act.

If Forensicare elects to enter into an agreement with a successful Invitee, the term of such agreement will be three (3) years, with one option of three years to extend the contract. It is intended that the new contract arrangement will commence on or around 1st May 2021.
