Provision of Immunisation Services

⁠⁠⁠Derwent Valley Council (Council) covers a large area to the west of Hobart in Southern Tasmania. The Derwent Valley Municipal area is characterised by its ever growing rural townships, green hills and river valley environment. Major features of the Derwent Valley municipality include its land and fresh water resources which are the source of the region's farmland and agricultural production. Major crops include hops and soft fruit as well as livestock. The region has a significant tourism industry based on spectacular natural resources such as Mt Field National Park and attractive built attractions such as the Maydena Bike Park.

The region has numerous examples of early architecture including oast houses, grand mansions, humble settler cottages and Willow Court.
A number of small townships rely on the major centre of New Norfolk which provides a mix of businesses catering for both residents and tourists in the area. New Norfolk is located 35km to the west of Hobart and is conveniently reached from Hobart airport in 45 minutes.
Derwent Valley Council is responsible for providing immunisations to those community members that are identified in the National Immunisation Program Schedule and the Tasmanian Immunisation Schedules.

This contract is for the provision of immunisation services as required by the Tasmanian Public Health Act 1997, the National Immunisation Program Schedule and the Tasmanian Immunisation Schedule.
