Rio Tinto is seeking expressions of interest from the market to undertake crushing and processing of railway ballast at Quarry 186 under a contract mining model.
The quarry is adjacent to Rio Tinto Iron Ore Rail Network and located about 11.2km south-east of Tom Price. The quarry is currently not used since the initial construction of the rail. Reserves are not currently known.
This scope will require continuous operation of the quarry for several years to provide an ongoing source of railway ballast to support railway maintenance and renewal works.
Access is through an FMG tenure. Please see location map as attached.
More detailed information will be provided to suppliers that reach tender stage including access roads and existing facilities on site.
