Purpose:
Rotorua Lakes Council invites interested parties to provide information on their lone worker protection devices / solutions.

Background:
Rotorua Lakes Council has a broad range of functions and activities that require staff to work alone, remotely, or in isolation. Staff work in many areas including the CBD, rural areas, in forests, and around lakes. Cellular coverage is non-existent or patchy in some of these work locations.

Current status:
Teams are currently using a Smartrak cellular-only personal locator device, with an inactivity alert function. The current solution meets some but not all of our needs.

Our requirements:
While we would ideally like a "one size fits all" solution - we acknowledge that we may need multiple solutions to meet our needs - depending on the risk, activity and specific user requirements.

The solution(s) must:

• Offer satellite capability, and/or a combination of satellite and cellular capability
• Be easy to use
• Allow users quick and easy access to send emergency alert
• Allow real time visibility of where the units are
• Have the ability to look back at history
• Be hard wearing
• Have geo-fencing capability
• Have inactivity alerts
• Have a good battery life.
