Independent Members of the Council Assessment Panel

⁠⁠⁠3 Independent Member Positions including Presiding Member Position

Southern Mallee District Council has vacancies on the Council Assessment Panel (CAP) and is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced members of the public to become either an independent Member or Presiding member of the CAP.

The CAP comprises of four independent Members (one of whom is the Presiding Member) and one Council Elected Member.

The successful applicants will have a keen interest in planning and development, an excellent working and knowledge of the Development Act 1993 and Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and appropriate and relevant qualifications and experience. Independent Members must hold the relevant accreditation (Accredited Professionals) persuant to the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.

Current panel members may re-apply.

Independent Members are paid a sitting fee per meeting to cover time involved in and preparing for and attending meetings, plus travel Allowance. The CAP meets as required.

CAP meetings may take place via electronic means due to COVID-19.

The term of appointment for the Independent Members will expire on 18 Novemner 2021.
