James Cook University (JCU) invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from suitably qualified Principal Contractors to Design and Construct (D&C) an office and accommodation for staff living onsite at the University’s Orpheus Island Research Station (OIRS). JCU will evaluate and shortlist from the EOI and invite competitive fixed price lump sum D&C tenders from shortlisted proponents.
The OIRS Office & Accommodation project proposes one 59m² office and two separate 48m² accommodation units. Only preliminary design has been completed for these facilities to enable shortlisted proponents to tender their proposed methodology for delivery which could comprise of build insitu, build and transport to site etc. Due to the remote off-grid locality, JCU is prepared to consider accommodating the Principal Contractor on OIRS.
Shortlisted proponents will be required to participate in a mandatory site visit.
