Tender Description
Project objectives:
Due to the narrow nature of the failing seal, undulating/bending road geometry and lack of trafficable road shoulder,
the key objectives of the project are;
- Widening sealed pavement to minimum 9.6m, comprising of two traffic lanes 3.3m wide and 1.5 m wide sealed shoulders to allow two vehicles to comfortably pass without leaving the seal.
- Minor grade changes, cross fall adjustments and reshaping of batters and table drains for smooth travelling, improved site distance and drainage runoff.
- New seal shall provide for improved road contact and skid resistance
- Line marking for improved traffic delineation and overtaking controls
- Installation of RRPM's at 24m spacings
- Installation of new guide posts at TEM Vol 2 specified spacings
- Establishment of 6m clear zone with hazard protection utilising risk management methods such as widening of existing culverts, installation of driveable culvert end walls and hazard removal where specified on the drawings.
