Design & Construction Minerals Shiploader

⁠⁠⁠TasRail is seeking the services of suitably qualified,experienced and competent contractor to tender a price for a new Shiploader and associated infrastructure to replace the existing asset located at Burnie. The tender is for the whole of the Works. It includes design,fabrication, and installation of a new Shiploader and associated re-claim system components,in addition to decommissioning and disposal of the existing assets. The proposal must be in accordance with the Principals Project Requirements and be designed to utilise componentry commonly used and available in Australia.

Key Points of Tender:

• AS4902 Design and Construction Contract.
• Only a bried period of interruption to the shipping services will be permitted for decommissioning of old and installation of a new structures so the transition period between the old and new asset must be strategically and efficiently managed to ensure the minimum possible interruption to shipping schedules.
• Stringent environmental protection measures in place for the duration of works;
• Attendance at a compulsory site familiarisation in August 2020 (to be confirmed as on site or via remote video-conferencing,subject to COVID-19 restriction);
• Works are planned to commence in early 2021.
• Compliance with the Building Code 2016, the Australian Government Building and Construction Workplace Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and other relevant regulations;
• Provision of and adherence to a complaint Indigenous Participation Plan is a requirement.

Tenderers are to demonstrate in their support of Australian/Tasmanian industry and business as outlined in the Tasmanian Government Buy Local Policy as this is a weighted criteria. TasRail's preference is for maximum possible local Tasmanian content and business involvement both for the installation and for on going support and maintenance.
