Derwent Valley Council provides and maintains an extensive network of civil infrastructure over an area of 4,111km2. Situated west of Hobart, the primary service centre of the Municipality is New Norfolk where the planned contract works are situated.
Derwent Valley Council's Strategic Management Plan, Asset Management Strategy and Transport Asset Management Plan are the keystone documents that have guided the investigation into opportunities to improve the safety, integrity, compliance and asset life of its road network.
The identified area for road rehabilitation is a section of Black Hills Road commencing at the Ransleys Road intersection and extend in a south to south easterly direction for approximately 700 metres to PID 222. Works included are:
- Geotechnical investigation and pavement design,
- Installation of new culverts and headwalls,
- Shaping of the road heading south to create a six and a half metre pavement, consisting of a five and a half metre (5.5m) seal and a half a metre (0.5m) shoulders,
- Rehabilitation of the road pavement with appropriate insitu stabilisation,
- New wearing course (seal),
- Edge and centreline Line marking and RRPMs (centreline only)
- Clean and maintain existing table drain.
A key part of decision making will be Derwent Valley Council's understanding of Contractors 'in-house' competency for the particular work, and the ability to deliver outcomes as committed.
This Tender is for the supply and delivery of the services as detailed in the document, 2020-005 Black Hills Road Scope and Specifications.
The Contract term will be confirmed at contract execution with the successful tenderer, but it is intended all works to be completed by 31 January 2021
