Stanage Bay Gravels

Bounded by the Great Barrier Reef to the east and sandstone wilderness in the west, Livingstone Shire is located within the Fitzroy Region of Central Queensland and covers 11,800 square kilometres on the Capricorn Coast. The major urban townships of Yeppoon and Emu Park are where the majority of the population reside, our beautiful rural areas include Byfield, Cawarral, The Caves, Stanage, Marlborough, Glenlee and Glendale. Council Services a population of 36,000. Our major industries include retail, tourism, education and training, health care and social assistance, construction and agriculture.

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking to source suitably qualified Suppliers to Provide 1058T-B Stanage Bay Road –Stage 4 GravelsServices Contract requirements. The Federal Government is funding $21.6M to Livingstone Shire Council in order to seal 39.7km of gravel road on Stanage Bay Road.

The works will be delivered by both Council Construction crews and external Contractors.

The project has been broken up into 4 Stages with 2 stages delivered by Council (9.4km & 5.9km) and 2 stages delivered by external Contractors (12.2km & 12.2km). Council is aiming to deliver Stage 4 (9.4km) located at the northern end of the project in the 20/21 financial year.In order to deliver Stage 4 works Council needs to source gravel road base material for road embankment and road pavement.

The Hollins Bay Gravel Pit, managed by Council and currently used to produce gravel for unsealed road maintenance grading, is located atChainage85.5kmon Stanage Bay Road and is in relativelyclose proximity(approximately 30km North) to the Stage 4 works which will be delivered by Council in 20/21 financial year. The Hollins Bay Gravel Pit currently hasall ofthe necessary permits in place to extract up to 100,000tonneof material per year.

Objective

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking responses to this Invitation to Tender for Stanage Bay Road –Stage 4 GravelsTender No. 1058T-B as per specification.The purpose of this ITT process is to assess the ability of Tenderers to complete the Servicesin accordance with all relevant Australian Standards.
