Policy Officer

⁠⁠⁠The Digital Transformation Agency’s (DTA) purpose is to lead digital transformation to make Australian government services simple, quick and personalised. The DTA has wide-ranging accountabilities including whole-of-government digital strategy, policy and advice, delivery of whole-of-government platforms and technologies as well as digital skills development and sourcing.

The DTA is seeking enthusiastic people who can help develop policy for government to consider in relation to its COVID-19 digital response. You will be excited by the chance to gain experience with policy initiatives in a central agency working on high profile digital products with agencies across government. You will enjoy the pressure of tight deadlines, and creating the products – briefings, QTBs, Senate Estimates briefings, presentations, reporting, talking points, media responses etc. – that will help our Government and senior executive to manage the COVID-19 digital response.
Our team is small and dynamic, creating a great environment to learn new skills. You may at times be asked to help with other important work of the team as priorities dictate.

Key duties and capabilities
You will assist to:
• Prepare robust and proactive advice to government on the COVID-19 digital response
• Support the Minister and our senior executive through briefing that considers government’s goals, stakeholder perspectives, risks and mitigations
• Contribute to policy thinking for the COVID-19 digital response
• Assist with other briefings and tasks, as necessary
