Tender Description
Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) facilities at the Boyne Island Wastewater Treatment Plant (BI WWTP) include two recycling effluent storage ponds.
The primary purpose of these ponds is to store treated sewage effluent before it is recycled or discharged as per Environment Protection Authority (EPA) licensing conditions. In the event of major plant breakdown or rain event, raw sewage can be bypassed into the emergency pond (Storage Pond 1). Storage Pond 2 is currently in use while Storage Pond 1 is being upgraded.
The Emergency Storage Pond 1 is being upgraded in 2 x distinct construction contracts to bring it back into service.
- - Ref 96-20 contract has recently reached completion with the reinforced concrete lining works of the pond.
- - Ref 45-21 (this tender) is for the installation of the pump station along with the provision of the rising main and outflow drainage works. The pump station is being supplied by the Principal. Completion of the concrete liner in the SE corner of the pond is required
