Watter Supply - Cattle Yards Plumbing and Sprinkler System

⁠⁠⁠SCOPE
Extent of the works under this quotation include the supply installation of two independent systems of pipework to supply water throughout the Cattle Yards to services including but not limited to water supply troughs and sprinklers for dust suppression.

Water is to be supplied to all troughs in the Cattle Yards through a DN25 poly pipe system, and is to bypass the pumps and connect to the site mains directly through an existing 25mm ferrule cock and reduced pressure zone (RPZ) valve for backflow prevention.

A second line supplied by via the pump set will supply water to the sprinklers throughout the yards by way of a DN50 poly pipe system. Sprinklers are to be operable by both a timer in the sub mains board in the office and via a terminal in the office capable of directly manipulating individual solenoid valves supply each sprinkler line.

The Contractor shall be responsible for the provision of all materials, labour, cartage, freight, tools, plant, appliances and all other works necessary though not specifically mentioned on the drawings or project specifications, to the true intent and meaning of the contract documentation. Items not included in the project specifications but shown on the drawings or vice versa, shall be included as part of this contract.

EXTENT OF WORKS

Works to be completed are envisaged to include, but may not be limited to, the following:
• Supply and installation of approximately 800m of DN50 pipe, including valves, fixtures and fittings to supply the sprinklers throughout the yards to be connected to and supplied by the variable speed pump set within the pumphouse shed;
• Supply and installation of 47 x Toro Model S-II Impact Sprinklers (Double Jet 3.7 x
2.5mm Nozzles) or approved equivalent to meet coverage requirements for dust suppression, including fixtures and fittings;
• Supply and installation of a 19mm x 30m hose reel of either stainless steel or powder coat grey finish, to connect to the DN50 poly pipe sprinkler line;
• Supply and installation of approximately 500m of DN25 pipe, all valves, fixtures, fittings necessary to supply water to all troughs throughout the cattle yards;

• Supply and installation of associated electrical power supply and controls, including but not limited to a series of solenoid valves designed to manipulate flow of water to the sprinklers and be operable from within the office building;
• Miscellaneous and associated works as specified;
• Testing and commissioning of all works;
• Supply of operation & maintenance manuals;
• Training of operational staff;
• Preventive testing and maintenance during the Defects Liability Period;
• All other works necessary to complete the project to the full intent of the drawings and specification.

Note that some work items may be scheduled as “if ordered” and due to funding constraints some work items may be deleted prior to commencement.

WORKS UNDER SEPARATE QUOTATIONS
Work to be performed under separate quotations include:
• Earthworks – excluding trenching and backfilling;
• Pavement - excluding trenching and backfilling;
• Construction of the Cattle Yards;
• Supply and installation of plumbing for:
o Truck Wash;
o Office and Amenities Building internal plumbing;
o Site water supply external plumbing except as specified herein.

WORKS BY THE PRINCIPAL
Work to be performed by the Principal shall include:
• Project signage.
• Supply and placement of water mains northwards from the southern boundary of the Warrego Highway road reserve.
