Scope of work

To leverage expertise in software, cognitive science, and behaviour theory to design virtual reality Cultural Awareness Training (CAT) solutions for Rio Tinto Iron Ore.

The outcome of good cultural awareness will look to challenge cultural bias and increase social and emotional intelligence.

Virtual environments, allow businesses to create, test, and train significantly faster and more effectively than using training methods.

The project will look at two distinctive sections:

• National (x1 package) - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) focus and how it connects with each of the Rio Tinto product groups. Note: Potential to be implemented nationally achieving Elevated RAP commitment on CAT.
• Local (x5 package) - Pilbara Traditional Owner (TO) focus and how it connects with each of the Rio Tinto Iron Ore sites. Four TO groups have provided in-principle support (YHW, NGL, NLW and PKKP). The vision is to also include Noongar into the Perth Hub. Note: Potential template for National roll-out.

Oculus Go VR headsets delivery in a Rio Tinto facilitator-hosted training room; however the product will be transferable to a smart phone device should the situation need it.
